Als The Hunger Games lezer van het eerste uur moest ik dit boek natuurlijk ook meteen lezen. Wat een geweldige prequel is dit! Al mijn (al best hoge) verwachtingen werden overtroffen. Het was heerlijk om weer de wereld van The Hunger Games in te mogen duiken, wederom natuurlijk op een goede manier gevuld met sociaal commentaar en ook nog eens vol connecties met de andere boeken. Meerdere keren een traantje weggepinkt, maar het was het zo ontzettend waard! Een must-read!
