In World of Trouble rond Ben H. Winters zijn Last Policeman-trilogie op een prima wijze af.
Waar in boek 1 de dreiging van een aanstormende meteoor heel de maatschappij op zijn kop zet en in deel twee het aanvaarden van het definitieve lot van de mensheid de toon voert, zijn we nu tenslotte aanbeland bij de laatste dagen voor de impact. Net als in de vorige boeken blijft detective Hank Palace aan de slag als politieman. De zoektocht naar zijn zus, die in de nasleep van het 2de boek er op uit trok met wat fanatici om alsnog de wereld te redden, staat centraal.
Winters maakt er een behoorlijk heftige plot van, strak uitgewerkt en weer prima verweven met het aanstormende einde van de wereld.
Niets wereldschokkend, maar wel uitstekend leesvoer.
